Location: Estérel, near Lac du Nord

The owners of this house in Estérel asked us to do three separate projects.
The first consisted of a large exterior staircase with a matte black steel triple stringer to maximize solidity. The treads are made from engineered fibreglass from Les Produits Balcotech inc. The staircase is secured by a clear 12-mm tempered glass railing, attached by matte black steel spigots, which continues around the deck. The staircase handrail, also in matte black steel, is attached to the railing with matching steel clamps.
The second project was an exterior staircase leading to the lake. The structure consists of a treated wood triple stringer and a 6 x 6 treated wood columns. The steps and landing are in natural white cedar. For the railings, we opted for steel cables with natural white cedar posts and handrails.
Finally, we built a small balcony deck and steps using an engineered fibreglass surface from Produits Balcotech inc. The antique wood colour perfectly matches the façade of the house.
