Type of building: residential
As part of renovating a house in Montréal, we designed and installed two types of interior glass railings. The first is a guardrail around the basement staircase. It is made of clear 12-mm tempered glass and stands the regulation 36 inches high. It is attached by matte black spigots to the floor and glass clamps on the top. The glass lets in light from the entryway.
The second railing is made of clear 10-mm tempered glass and includes a wrought iron and matte black steel frame that holds the glass in place with matte black glass clamps. This contemporary glass railing was designed to measure. It is very solid and can be used as a handrail.
